This covers Martin's post-war career, during which he was Controller of the Navy from 1816 to 1831. It consists largely of private correspondence with senior officers, politicians and others which are illuminating on the naval policy and events of the times. There is also printed some of Martin's own interesting autobiographical notes, dealing chiefly with the latter part of his career.
